Syria tonight

Reports from Twitter indicate a massive government massacre of civilians in Homs, Syria today. Government forces reportedly rolled in with tanks and mortars, causing hundreds of deaths, many of which are graphically depicted in the video below.

Protestors have surrounded Syrian embassies in Berlin, New York, Washington, Kuwait, London and Madrid, in some cases breaking in to the buildings. More protests are planned for the morning. For updates on the ground in Syria tonight, follow @BigAlBrand.

Kevin Rashid Johnson

Self-portrait by Rashid Johnson.
Long-time Insurgent collaborator and political prisoner Kevin Rashid Johnson has received a lot of threats and abuse from prison guards. This has recently culminated in a attack in which prison guard Tony Adams pulled out a significant portion of Rashid's hair.

But why is Rashid so controversial? He currently serves as the Minister of Defence for the Prison Chapter of the New Afrikaans Black Panther Party. You can read about Rashid and check out some of his art on his website here.
